Jon Jones is bad for the sport. His behavior is a danger to himself and those around him.

Jon is a magnificent talent, but it is time for the UFC to let him go. He has persistently made choices that endanger his fellow competitors and those in his community. Fighting in the UFC is not a right, it is a privilege.

Here is a brief list of his selfish and dangerous behavior That has been documented. I can only imagine what he does when he is unobserved.

  • 11/24/11 Arrested at a strip club for driving on a suspended license. He knew he had prior violations that had caused his license to be suspended. He just did not care.
  • 5/19/12 Crashed his Bentley into a utility pole injuring 2 passengers. Convicted of DUI. As an ER doctor I have serious issues with people who drive while impaired and put everyone in danger.
  • 4/14/12 Sent a homophobic text to a fan. Does not accept responsibility. Claims his phone was stolen and his account hacked.
  • 9/23/14 Fined $50,000 by the Nevada State Athletic Committee for a pre-fight, fight.
  • 1/16/15 Fails his drug test. Flees to rehab, but leaves the next day. Only stayed for one night. UFC still allowed him to fight.
  • 4/27/15 Hit and Run! Injured a pregnant woman and fled the scene. Did not turn himself in until it was clear he had been identified. Pattern of attempting to escape responsibility when he hurts others. Gets 18 months probation.
  • 3/29/16 Arrested for violating his probation. While on probation for injuring a pregnant woman driving while impaired he is caught drag racing. Again putting others on the road at high risk. On police body camera he is screaming at the officer that he is a “F—ing liar and a pig”. No remorse. No insight to his pattern of endangering his community. Given another chance. Anger management and driving classes.
  • 6/6/16 Tests positive for performance enhancing drugs. In MMA PEDs don’t just let you hit more home runs, they make it so you can punch people harder and inflict more damage. He is harming his fellow fighters. Gets on TV and cries about how deeply it hurts him to be considered a cheat.
  • 8/22/17 Tests positive for the steroid Turinabol. He literally is allowed to punch his competitors as hard as he can, but he chooses to take drugs to be able to hit even harder.
  • 12/23/18 In a bizarre move the UFC moves the entire fight card from Las Vegas to Los Angeles so Jon can still fight when he again has Turinabol in his system.
  • 4/19/19 Waitress at a strip club files police report that Jon put her in a choke hold, kissed her neck and rubbed her genitals when she declined to give him a private lap dance. Uses his strength, well honed techniques and intimidation to molest a nearly naked girl less than 1/2 his size.
  • 6/21/19 Warrant Issued for Jon J after he fails to show up for his bond arraignment for the strip club assault.
  • 10/15/19 Settles his strip club assault charge by pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.
  • 3/26/20 Arrested for DUI and negligent use of a gun. Just doing a bit of drinking and driving and shooting. Again, DUI drivers cause so much harm in out communities. He continues to demonstrate a consistent pattern of just not caring about anyone else. He is not just dangerous in the cage. He is much more dangerous behind the wheel.
  • Today. 9/24/2021 Arrested for domestic violence and damage to a car. 250 pounds of lean mean fighting machine raging against a tiny woman.

I love MMA but I have long ago vowed to never watch a card he is on. I am a man of my word. The story of Jon Jones will end in tragedy. His enablers need to look at themselves and what they have allowed. Martial arts need to look at the art. He is bad for our sport, our culture and most of all our communities. If you or people you love drive, he is a danger. If you or people you love are female, he is a bully. If you love MMA, he is a cheat.
