Marvin Vettori, Paul Felder engage in heated exchange over commentary during UFC 266

Marvin Vettori isn’t a fan of Paul Felder’s commentary, and he made it known on Twitter during the UFC 266 broadcast.

As the event neared the pay-per-view main card, Vettori (17-5-1 MMA, 7-3-1 UFC) tweeted that he muted his feed because of the commentary of Felder, who called the fights along with Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier.

“Had to mute the comment on the fights,” Vettori wrote. “Can’t stand Felder lol worst to ever do it”

During the main card broadcast, Felder took a moment from his commentary duties to respond to the Italian UFC middleweight contender on the social media platform.

“Am I using too many big words?” Felder wrote. “I’m sorry Marvin”

Vettori responded with an insult, calling Felder a “puppet,” to which “The Irish Dragon” retorted, “Why? Because I have a job? Or because I called it like it was in your last fight?”

Felder was on the call for Vettori’s most recent fight, a June title challenge defeat to middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 263. Vettori lost the fight via unanimous decision.

“It’s not even about me,” Vettori wrote. “You are double faced, you have no problems calling a fight one sided when it’s really not and would go out of your way to back your opinions up with lies that you know are lies. But ye keep lying i guess people love it now a days”

On Oct. 23, Vettori headlines UFC Fight Night 196 against Paulo Costa, a fight for which Felder revealed he will be on commentary duties. Felder vowed to make sure he tries his best to call the fight fair.

“Well I’ll do my best not to do that on October 23,” Felder wrote. “I think you are a talented fighter Marvin. I don’t mean to upset you but I call what I see. If you don’t like it that’s not my job. Talk soon.”

UFC 266 took place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. The main card streamed on ESPN+ pay-per-view after prelims on ESPNews/ESPN+.
