Conor McGregor gets a key to the city of Miami, where he once allegedly stole a man’s phone and smashed it.

Conor McGregor trades in the jail key for a Key to the City of Miami, Florida.

McGregor, the former two-division champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), recently added more gold to his collection. “The Notorious” one met with Miami mayor Francis X. Suarez who presented McGregor with The Key to the City.

“The Mac with The Key to The City of Miami!” McGregor captioned an Instagram post on Tuesday. “Thank you Mayor Suarez for bestowing this great honor upon me and with my family present to witness. A very proud moment for me in my life. Thank you! Your hospitality and care for my family and team will be forever remembered. God Bless you and this great city! May the spirit of Miami live within us all.”

McGregor was arrested outside of the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida on March 11, 2019. He was taken into custody and charged with strong-armed robbery and criminal mischief after allegedly taking a man’s phone and smashing it (watch footage here). Both the civil suit and criminal charges were dropped after a reported out-of-court settlement.
