This past weekend’s UFC 266 saw Alexander Volkanovski earn a hard-fought win over a very game Brian Ortega, and it seems like Volkanovski is finally getting a little respect as UFC champion.
Afterward, Volkanovski pointed to the upcoming Max Holloway-Yair Rodriguez fight as a potential No. 1 contender matchup, but then there were also social media challenges from Henry Cejudo and Conor McGregor.
Cejudo, the retired former flyweight and bantamweight champ-champ, went so far as to say Volkanovski is “the only fight that really matters,” and there’s no doubt it’s a tantalizing matchup. There are reasons why it does and doesn’t make sense, but what would be the most intriguing next booking for the champ?
