Rogan Slips To No. 2 On Spotify

OH! HE HURT HIM!

Joe Rogan no longer has the No. 1 podcast on Spotify.

That distinction falls to “Banter With Sapnap and Karl Jacobs,” which Newsweek tells me is hosted by Jacobs, “a gamer, podcast host and content creator with over 22.5 million followers, and Sapnap, a YouTuber known for his Minecraft challenge videos.”

I’m sure they’ll be boxing shopworn UFC vets in a couple of years.

Despite falling to No. 2, Rogan still averages roughly 11 million listeners per episode. And the Sapnap-Jacobs duo will have to follow up their debut effort with equally strong content in order to stay competitive with other programs gunning for the top spot.

Like the uber-popular “Crime Junkie” and “Call Her Daddy” podcasts.

Rogan calls most major UFC pay-per-view (PPV) events and has gotten a bad rap as of late for his outspoken views on a variety of social topics. But fellow color commentators Michael Bisping and Daniel Cormier were quick to defend the former “Fear Factor” host.

“For me, Joe Rogan is the man when it comes to commentating,” Bisping wrote on Twitter. “It’s just become trendy to knock him for some insanely strange reason. I watch him and learn every time. He has fascinating takes and a way with words I can only aspire to. And this isn’t me being a company man either.”

“Joe Rogan is the man!” Cormier added. “He has been so helpful and helps and asks for nothing in return. And Joe Rogan is the UFC, he’s yesterday’s UFC, he’s today’s UFC, Joe Rogan will be tomorrow’s UFC! I am honored to be able to sit to his right on the biggest fight nights of the year!”

Rogan has yet to comment on his drop to No. 2.
