Karol Rosa dominated at UFC Fight Night 193, but retiring Bethe Correia made the win ‘bittersweet’

Carol Rosa played the role of retirement spoiler on Saturday night.

Rosa (15-3 MMA, 4-0 UFC) faced Bethe Correia, who announced prior to the bout that she would be retiring from the sport. Rosa took care of business and dominated the fight over the course of three rounds, earning scores of 30-27, 30-27, and 30-26 from the judges.

The bout took place on the prelims of UFC Fight Night 193 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The entire event aired on ESPN+.

The victory was a “bittersweet” for Rosa, who admitted she was happy she got the win, but sad that she defeated Correia (11-6-1 MMA, 5-6-1 UFC) in the final fight of her career. Speaking in Portuguese through a translator, Rosa told MMA Junkie and other reporters present at the post-fight news conference she watched Bethe fights when she started her own career, which made the entire moment an emotional one.

The win marked the sixth in a row for Rosa, who remained undefeated under the UFC banner with four victories after joining the promotion in 2019.
