Conor McGregor reveals massive UFC 257 pay-per-view buys

The rematch between former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor and former interim lightweight titleholder Dustin Poirier sold a massive amount of pay-per-views in January.

The two first fought at UFC 178 in in September 2014 with McGregor finishing Poirier in the first round via TKO. In the rematch, seven years removed from the first fight, Poirier stopped McGregor in the second round of the UFC 257 main event.

McGregor shared the number of pay-per-views buys the event did via Twitter on Monday. In a communication from Zuffa LLC, the number of pay-per-views sold for the event exceeded 1.5 million.

The event took place on Jan. 24 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The two met in a trilogy bout at UFC 264 on July 10 with Poirier defeating McGregor in the first round after McGregor suffered a broken leg.
