Submission! Watch Godinez Net First-Round Submission

Lupita Godinez scored the biggest win of her career earlier today (Sat., Oct. 9, 2021) at UFC Vegas 39 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the former LFA champion stopped Octagon newcomer Silvana Gomez Juarez with a first-round submission (armbar).

Godinez pressured Gomez early along the cage and used her wrestling to score some takedowns. Gomez did pretty well to return to her feet, but she was dragged down again. That’s when Godinez was able to threaten with an armbar and force Gomez to turn over and eventually tap. It was the first submission win in the career of “Loopy.”
