Mariya Agapova wants ‘to punish this b*tch’ Maryna Moroz over troubling accusations

LAS VEGAS – Mariya Agapova has one thing clear in her mind: She wants to fight Maryna Moroz.

The UFC women’s flyweight is hoping to get a bout with her former teammate following her win over Sabina Mazo on the main card of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 194. Agapova (10-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) bounced back from an upset loss to Shana Dobson with a third-round submission over Mazo.

In her post-fight interview, Agapova called out Moroz to fight. Once backstage, the Kazakhstani fighter explained to reporters she’d like to get payback over some serious accusations Moroz made over the summer.

“She’s just jealous, and second, she’s sneaky,” Agapova said at the post-fight news conference. “She tried to destroy my career. I lost sponsorships because of her interview and got in a big trouble situation, and I would like to punish this b*tch because she tried to destroy my career. I want to smash her.”

Moroz claimed Agapova was kicked out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fla., due to drug use and threatening someone with a knife. Agapova, who no longer trains in Coconut Creek and now trains at the team’s location in Sunrise, Fla., denied Moroz’s accusations.

“We were training together. We were teammates, and after I left she started lying and talking sh*t about me.” Agapova said. “I lost a lot of sponsorships. I lost fans. It was not nice. It was super sneaky. I left not because I was a drug addict and threatened someone with a knife. I left because I just argued with some guy and I left.

“She just talked sh*t about me. She’s a liar and I got pissed off. She also cheated my manager from money. My manager Alex (Davis) is such a good person. He’s super nice and she cheated him from money. She f*cked him up. She’s not a very good person and I would like to beat her ass and smash her face.”

Agapova says the accusations were an attempt from Moroz to bring her down in her career at a tough point in her life. Agapova was coming off a lengthy layoff, was in financial difficulties and recovering from an injury.

“I think she’s just trying to put me down,” Agapova said. “I left, I had trouble with my health and she just used my weakness to put me down and destroy my career. This is super sneaky and not nice. I call her to fight, so if you want to talk sh*t, be ready to answer for your words.”

Moroz responded to Agapova by leaving a comment on MMA Junkie’s Instagram feed. She said, simply: “Don’t worry, your time will come.”
