Former UFC and Bellator veteran, Melvin Guillard, suffered his 13th straight loss when he was knocked out by Joe Riggs at BKFC on Oct. 9 and now the fighter is sharing the aftermath of that devastating 59-second KO.
Guillard took to Instagram to share the gory details of his injuries.
First, he updated from the hospital before he knew the full extent of his injuries.
“Broken orbital I’m not sure yet at the hospital now waiting to see the doctors now just updating my fans,” he wrote on Oct. 10. “Just got finished getting stitched up by the doctor now I’m just waiting on the results of my MRI and my cat scan to know if I need surgery or not.”
He then updated saying he would be going into surgery for “multiple facial fractures.”
“Just found out at 3:15 a.m. I have five fractures in my orbital so I will be having surgery today just wanted to get my fans friends and family the news I’ll be okay just keep me in your prayers I’ll be lying if I said I wasn’t a little scared right now we’ll see what happens,” he wrote.

Despite the injury and the long string of losses Guillard seems primed and ready to get back to fighting.
“Not going to slow me down [nothing will] stop me from accomplishing my goal.”
