Pettis Vs. Horiguchi Title Fight Set For Bellator 272

Bellator MMA

A highly-intriguing Bantamweight title fight has been booked for the upcoming Bellator 272 event on Dec. 3, 2021, when division champion, Sergio Pettis, is tasked with defending his title against Kyoji Horiguchi, according to a report from CBSSports.com.

Horiguchi signed with Bellator earlier this year after vacating the RIZIN division strap. He initially won the RIZIN title in Dec. 2018. After vacating it due to injury, he then went on to win the division title for Bellator six months later by defeating Darrion Caldwell at Bellator 222. After vacating that title, he won the RIZIN championship again 18 months later.

Pettis, meanwhile, put the cherry on top of his hot start in Bellator with a dominant win over former champion Juan Archuleta at Bellator 258 this past summer. The win was “The Phenom’s” fourth in a row, third inside the Bellator cage.

With a perfect record (3-0) under the Bellator banner, Pettis now looks for his first-ever title defense against one of the best 135-pound fighters in the game today this December inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
