Former UFC fighter disqualified for illegal knee at UAE Warriors 24 in Abu Dhabi

Hopefully, this is the last of the illegal knees we’ll see end a fight in Abu Dhabi this weekend.

On the eve of UFC 267, two-time UFC veteran KB Bhullar (9-3) was disqualified in his middleweight matchup with Syrian opponent Tarek Suleiman (12-7) after landing a clearly unscrupulous shot to a downed opponent.

The infraction served as part of Friday’s UAE Warriors 24 event, which streamed live on UFC Fight Pass from Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi. Check out video of the illegal blow, as well as the aftermath:

The nearby Etihad Arena plays host to Saturday’s UFC 267, which has a rather intriguing interim bantamweight title fight that was brought about, in part, by a very unfortunate illegal knee in a title fight earlier this year.

Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that there’s not something in the water this weekend on the shores of the Persian Gulf.
