Bellator stays overseas this week, and the vacant lightweight title is on the line.
Bellator 270 takes place Friday at 3Arena in Dublin. The main card airs on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.

In the main event, Peter Queally (13-5-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) takes on Patricky Freire (23-10 MMA, 14-8 BMMA) for the vacant lightweight title. Patricky’s brother Patricio recently vacated the belt to focus on featherweight, which opened the door for his brother to get a title shot. Freire is a -210 favorite at Tipico; the comeback on Queally is +160. Our 13 editors, writers, radio hosts and videographers are backing Freire at an 11-2 clip.
In the co-feature, James Gallagher (11-1 MMA, 8-1 BMMA) takes on Patchy Mix (14-1 MMA, 3-1 BMMA) in a bantamweight fight. Mix is a sizable favorite at -380, and only one of our staff members is taking Gallagher in an upset.
Also on the main card, Pedro Carvalho (11-5 MMA, 4-2 BMMA) meets Daniel Weichel (41-12 MMA, 10-4 BMMA) at featherweight. Weichel is the favorite at -240, and he’s a near-unanimous pick at 12-1.
And to open the main card, Ilias Bulaid (2-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) takes on Georges Sasu (5-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) at featherweight. Bulaid is more than a 2-1 favorite, but he’s only got the smallest possible picks lead at 7-6 – and Sasu actually is the pick of two-thirds of our reader respondents.
