‘Sore loser’ Shane Burgos aims to put scary Edson Barboza finish in past at UFC 268

Shane Burgos is the first to admit he’s a “sore loser,” and he was just that after his memorable TKO loss to Edson Barboza.

Burgos (13-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) has every intention of putting that result behind him, though, and plans to move forward with a big rebound win against Billy Quarantillo (16-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) on Saturday at UFC 268.

“I’m looking forward to having a huge statement,” Burgos told MMA Junkie and other reporters at UFC 268 media day. “I never want a three-round war. I think I have a lot of wars and I don’t intend for that to happen. I don’t get paid by the minute. I’m trying to get in there and get the f*ck out as soon as possible. I don’t see a three-round war. I’m more than ready for that but I think I’m going to get the job done before the third round, honestly.”

Burgos and Quarantillo meet in a featherweight bout on the main card of UFC 268, which takes place Saturday at Madison Square Garden. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPNNews and ESPN+.
