Usman Counters Covington’s Dad Diss, Slays ‘Chaos’

Live by the dad diss, die by the dad diss. Colby Covington just learned this important lesson at the UFC 268 pre-fight press conference.

Call us old fashioned, but it seems like not too long ago fighters left each others’ families out of the trash talk. In the rare occasion that someone did bring up someone else’s mother, a near immediate brawl would ensue, an explosion of violence restoring that fragile balance reflected in the saying ‘f—k around, find out.’

But these days, nothing is sacred. Conor McGregor brings up Khabib’s wife and dead father with glee. Colby Covington mocked Kamaru Usman’s manager who died recently, and now he’s bringing fathers into the smack talk circle as well. At the UFC 268 pre-fight press conference, “Chaos” fired off a whole bunch of new material hammering Usman over his father’s prison time for health care fraud.

The whole thing started off with Usman calling Covington out for denying he’d broken his jaw in the last fight.

“He’s saying that I was faking this and that, but I didn’t,” Usman said. “I stayed in the fight and I broke your f*cking jaw.”

“The only thing your broke was your daddy out of prison,” Covington replied. “Where’s that jailbird at? We need the scam artist here just like his son.”

Usman’s father served 10 years in jail after the ambulance company he owned was investigated for knowingly submitting false claims. Muhammed Usman insisted it was employees who had instigated and had profited from the illegal fees, but he ended up holding the bag.

Usman later fired back with a dad diss of his own, pointed right at Covington and his poor behavior.

“As a competitor, I love what he brings to the table,” Usman declared. “He pushes me and I expect that from him. But as a person, he’s a piece of s—t. I can’t believe his father let him put this persona on.”

“At least my father wasn’t in prison,” Covington shot back. “Scamming everybody out of their hard earned money. These people work their asses off, all these blue-collar Americans, and you’re going to scam them out of millions of dollars?”

“I’m looking at your dad here in the corner,” Usman replied. “Very respectable man, and I can just tell he’s embarrassed each and every time you open your mouth.”

Watch the video and see Covington’s reaction and tell us that didn’t hit him somewhere that hurt.
