Max Holloway, Yair Rodriguez pose for post-fight photo in ambulance

It was a bout that could be a Fight of the Year contender. Both former champion, Max Holloway and returning veteran, Yair Rodriguez fought their hearts out in a five-round slugfest. The fight was so tough it saw both men escourted to the hospital post-fight and skipping out on their media interviews.

But before the two separate ambulances took them away, Holloway jumped into Rodriguez’s to post for some photos together.

“[Max] and [Yair were] both taking a ride to the hospital. Max climbed into Yair’s ambulance to congratulate Yair for one of the best fights ever,” Reed Harris, UFC Senior Vice President of Athlete Development and Marketing, wrote on Twitter.

UFC Canada’s official Twitter shared a photo from another angle with the caption, “warriors” on it.

Fighters will sometimes take hospital bed photos together like we saw Michael Chandler and Justin Gathje do just last week. But this is the first, in recent memory, where the fighters hopped into the ambulance in the parking lot.

Holloway ended up with the unanimous decision but even UFC president, Dana White, praised Rodriguez’s performance at UFC Vegas 42 on Satruday afternoon.
