New UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira gets key to the city in Danbury, Conn.

A parade was held in honor of new UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira in his home city of Danbury, Conn.

Teixeira (33-7 MMA, 16-5 UFC), who captured the 205-pound title with a dominant second-round submission of Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267, was awarded the key to the city of Danbury, where he owns a gym.

A longtime resident of Danbury, Teixeira has had one of the most remarkable career resurgences in the history of the sport. The 42-year-old became the oldest first-time champion in UFC history and was able to string six consecutive wins en route to the title after dropping three of five.
