UFC 269 post-event facts: Charles Oliveira, Julianna Pena make history with title-fight wins

UFC 269 closed the promotion’s 2021 pay-per-view with a bang. The 14-fight card from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was unforgettable and featured two epic results at the top of the card with historic implications.

In the main event, Charles Oliveira (32-8 MMA, 20-8 UFC) answered any lingering questions about the legitimacy of his lightweight title reign when he submitted Dustin Poirier (28-7 MMA, 20-6 UFC) in the second round for his first title defense. The co-headliner, meanwhile, saw one of the greatest upsets in UFC history unfold when Julianna Pena (11-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC) shocked Amanda Nunes (21-5 MMA, 14-2 UFC) with a second-round submission to capture the women’s bantamweight belt.

Both title fights, as well as a number of other bouts on the card, made a mark on the record books. For more on the numbers, check below for 65 post-event facts to come out of UFC 269.
