Video: Is Sean O’Malley doing the right thing by slow-playing his UFC career?

Sean O’Malley is in a unique situation.

The exciting bantamweight recorded his third-straight finish by taking out Raulian Paiva in the first round at UFC 269. While the finish was spectacular, the focus quickly shifted to raising the level of O’Malley’s competition.

UFC president Dana White believes the time has come to pit him against tougher opponents while also opening up the checkbook so it makes sense for the 27-year-old striker, considering he previously stated the risk of fighting higher-ranked opponents wasn’t worth the money on his current contract.

What do you make of “The Sugar Show” right now? Has he played this perfectly, or is he letting opportunities pass him by while he slow-plays his career? Is it time for him to enter the mix at the top of the division or continue to add to the highlight reel without much resistance?

Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Mike Bohn, “Gorgeous” George Garcia, and “The Goze” Brian Garcia discuss five topics with host John Morgan.

Check out the discussion in the clip above and watch the full episode in the video below.

“Spinning Back Clique” is released each Tuesday on MMA Junkie’s YouTube channel
