Hector Lombard renews call to fight ‘fake f*ck’ Tyron Woodley: ‘His punk ass needs to get beat up by me’

Earlier this year, Hector Lombard confronted Tyron Woodley at a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship event, later posting the confrontation on his Instagram feed and explaining how the beef between the two got started.

Now Lombard is ready to finish it in the ring.

“I’ve always been interested to fight that fake f*ck,” Lombard told MMA Junkie. “I told you guys a long time ago, he’s a fake f*ck. He tried to pick up other people’s girls – not only mine, any girl that moved around, he tried to pick her up. Like, he feels that he deserves everything, and listen, it’s not about the girl because everybody, you know, when I made a post, everybody’s thinking about that I have feelings for the girl. No, I have feelings for the action of this clown that you think is your friend. You think like he can be your buddy, and here he is trying to get a hold of the girl.

“You know, he likes the smell of other people’s – I won’t say no more. But I do want the smoke.”

Lombard and Woodley did cross paths occasionally on the training mats at American Top Team. However, Lombard said their time together was limited and not exactly fruitful, with ATT co-founder Ricardo Liborio forced to intervene in their sparring session.

“I remember, like, he hit me super hard, you know, by surprise,” Lombard said. “Then I went and dropped him, and Liborio took me out of the sparring, and he never wanted to spar with me again, and that was it. You know, we never really trained. We never helped each other.”

Lombard says he lobbied for the matchup while the two were still on the UFC roster, directly asking both company president Dana White and then-CEO Lorenzo Fertitta to book the matchup.

“I even went and I was begging Dana White first, and then I went directly and I begged Lorenzo to get me a fight, and Lorenzo told me like, ‘Oh, let’s see what’s going to happen,’” Lombard said. “But I went to beg Lorenzo. ‘Lorenzo, get me that fight!’”

While it never materialized under the UFC banner, Lombard is hoping to put the clash together now.

The reigning BKFC cruiserweight champion, Lombard said his contract is exclusive to the promotion for any bare-knuckle bouts. But if an organization wants his services for a traditional boxing bout, a mixed rules event like Triad Combat, or even an MMA fight, he’s willing to sign on the dotted line, especially if it means a shot at Woodley.

“I think we need to get that fight out of the way, and I’m not going to let go until I get that fight,” Lombard said. “His punk ass needs to get beat up by me, and then I would be a happy man.”
