Andre Muniz wants Darren Till or Uriah Hall next: ‘I’d like to end the year in the top-five position’

Andre Muniz hopes to keep his momentum rolling into 2022.

Muniz (22-4 MMA, 4-0 UFC), who won MMA Junkie’s 2021 Submission of the Year award for his arm-snapping finish of Jacare Souza in May, followed that incredible performance up with another armbar over Eryk Anders at UFC 269 in December.

Currently ranked No. 12 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie middleweight rankings, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace is looking to climb the ladder and is eyeing a bout with former title challenger Darren Till (18-4-1 MMA, 6-4-1 UFC).

“I hope that now with these submissions, that the UFC will give me a top-10 or even a top-five,” Muniz told MMA Junkie. “I’d like to end the year in the top-five position. Maybe Darren Till, and who knows, maybe they’ll pay me a bonus now.”

Till is projected to headline the UFC’s rumored return to London in March, but if Muniz can’t get that fight in enemy territory, he likes the idea of Uriah Hall (17-10 MMA, 10-8 UFC) on home soil, as the promotion is also targeting a Brazil card in May.

“If I can’t hook them to put me against Darren Till in England, yeah it would be amazing to fight in Rio against somebody ranked ahead of me, and who knows, maybe Uriah Hall or somebody like that,” Muniz said. “It would be amazing.”
