UFC free fight: Ciryl Gane takes out Derrick Lewis to set up Ngannou grudge match

Ciryl Gane had to go into hostile territory to get a belt wrapped around his waist, but he left little doubt.

At UFC 265 in Houston, Gane made relatively easy work, all things considered, of hometown fan favorite Derrick Lewis to win the interim heavyweight title with a third-round TKO. Gane picked up a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus and set up a title unification bout against Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou (16-3 MMA, 11-2 UFC) returns Jan. 22 against Gane (10-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) in the UFC 270 main event at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The two are former teammates at MMA Factory in Paris. But after Ngannou left the team and coach Fernand Lopez, there has been bad blood between the two sides.

It all comes to a head at UFC 270 later this month. But ahead of that showdown, take a look at how Gane won his title with a finish of Lewis in the video above.
