Blagoy Ivanov returns against Marcos Rogerio de Lima at UFC 274 in May

Blagoy Ivanov will return to the UFC after an almost two-year layoff.

Ivanov (18-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) is set to meet Marcos Rogerio de Lima (19-7-1 MMA, 8-5 UFC) at UFC 274 on May 7. BJPenn.com first reported the fight booking, which de Lima subsequently confirmed on Instagram. The UFC has yet to make an official announcement.

UFC 274 originally was targeted to take place in Brazil. However, plans have since shifted back stateside, although the event does not yet have an official venue or location.

Ivanov hasn’t competed since getting edged out by Augusto Sakai in May 2020, marking his second straight split decision loss. A main training partner of UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, Ivanov was scheduled to face Marcin Tybura at UFC 260 in March, but he withdrew due to an undisclosed injury.

Winner of three of his past four, Brazil’s De Lima is coming off back-to-back wins over Maurice Greene in May and most recently a 32-second TKO of Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 197 in November.

With the addition, the UFC 274 lineup includes:

• Charles Oliveira vs. Justin Gaethje – for lightweight title
• Macy Chiasson vs. Norma Dumont
• Ariane Carnelossi vs. Loopy Godinez
