/r/MMA’s Weekly Trip Around the Combat Sports World

We’re rolling out something new. In order to showcase the greater combat sports world and to shine some light on Reddit’s smaller combat sports communities, we’re going to post a weekly round up of the top weekly post in each of the active combat sports subs. Most of our subreddit comes here for MMA news and media, but we understand a lot of you have an interest in some subset of other combat sports. However, catering to each and every possible combat sport out there is an infeasible task. What we would really love is to encourage our users to spend more time in these smaller subreddits, contributing content there.

We want to signal boost these communities and hopefully liven them. They will never grow if we take their best content. So instead, we hope this serves as a weekly reminder to go take a traipse through these smaller subs where they interest you. To that end, we have curated a multireddit for you of these combat subs you can peruse daily in addition to the weekly round up you’ll see here every Sunday morning. Feel free to chat in the comments below about any of the content in this post. If you moderate or frequent an active combat sports sub that’s not in the table below, let us know and we’ll get it added to the list.

RULES NOTE: Some of these posts in this weekly roundup will be violations of /r/MMA‘s rules. You’ll need to go to the respective subreddits to have ample discourse on those posts. When you’re in /r/MMA, /r/MMA‘s rules still apply.

SPOILER NOTE: Because of the incredibly varied nature of all of these combat sports and the content in here, this thread will not be monitored for spoilers. Enter at your own risk.

That’s the week! Reminder to all of these subreddits that we are allowing crossposted fight threads as per our Updated 3.2 Other Combat Sports rule. If you’re a subreddit that creates Fight Threads/Match Threads for your combat sports events get in contact with our modteam. We can get your fight threads crossposted to our subreddit and we’ll lock them here. That way it can get the attention of our users but we can direct conversation to your subreddit.

Lastly, if you’ve read this far, we’re looking for someone to help us make a bot to automate this process every week. If you’ve got some talent for Reddit bot making and wanna help us out please reach out to me or the rest of the modteam. We can hook you up with a cool flair and a weekly shoutout on this thread as payment
