Movsar Evloev vs. Dan Ige targeted for UFC event in June

Movsar Evloev has been assigned his biggest test to date.

The unbeaten rising featherweight is being targeted to fight veteran Dan Ige at a UFC event planned for June 4. Two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed the news to MMA Junkie on Tuesday following an initial report from ESPN.

Evloev (15-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) was scheduled to fight Ilia Topuria on Jan. 22 at UFC 270, but he was forced to withdraw from the bout because of a positive COVID-19 test. The 27-year-old last competed in June when he defeated Hakeem Dawodu in a unanimous decision at UFC 263. Evloev has yet to taste defeat since turning professional in 2014.

Meanwhile, Ige (15-5 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is coming off a decision loss to fellow veteran Josh Emmett at UFC 269 in December. Ige now finds himself on a two-fight skid and 1-3 in his past four trips to the octagon. His last win came in March when he knocked out Gavin Tucker in just 22 seconds to earn a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.
