Alan Baudot confident ‘brother’ Ciryl Gane will come back stronger from title loss

LAS VEGAS – Alan Baudot has no doubt Ciryl Gane will only get better after his recent title loss.

Gane (10-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC), a good friend and main training partner of Baudot’s at MMA Factory Paris, lost a back-and-forth decision to heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou at UFC 270, enduring the first loss of his career.

“I know Ciryl is strong. He’s a very good fighter and a very good guy,” Baudot told MMA Junkie at Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 201 media day. “He’s like my brother, and I know he’ll come back stronger for the next fight.”

But the focus this week is on Baudot (8-2 MMA, 0-0-1 UFC), who will look to notch his first octagon win when he meets Parker Porter (12-6 MMA, 2-1 UFC) on Saturday.

“He’s a good fighter and a good deal for me,” Baudot said of Parker. “He’s on a two-fight win streak. I’m on a two-fight losing streak in my mind, but I’m ready to take my first victory in the UFC.

“Yes, I have to win now. But I have to give to the fans a good show.”

UFC Fight Night 201 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex and streams on ESPN+.
