Video: Was it the right move for Joe Rogan to skip UFC 271?

There was plenty to talk about after UFC 271 this past Saturday.

But one of the biggest topics of conversation was noticeably absent from the event. Longtime commentator Joe Rogan was not in the broadcast booth at Toyota Center in Houston, despite the fact he does most of the promotion’s domestic pay-per-view events.

Rogan has found himself under all kinds of fire in recent weeks for multiple past incidences of N-word use on his podcast, as well as a large camp in the medical profession wanting Spotify to crack down on him for COVID-19 misinformation in the form of guests on his show.

UFC president Dana White said Rogan not working UFC 271 was not a corporate decision by Disney, which owns ESPN, the UFC’s broadcast partner.

Regardless of why, was Rogan taking the pay-per-view off the right move? Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of “Gorgeous” George Garcia, Brian “Goze” Garcia and Nolan King discussed that with host John Morgan.

You can watch their discussion in the video above, or check out this week’s full episode below.
