This date in MMA history: Michael Bisping’s wild, bloody and bizarre win over Anderson Silva

Six years ago Sunday, Michael Bisping picked up what was at the time the biggest win of his career.

Fighting in his home country of England for the first time since 2010, Bisping battled former middleweight champion Anderson Silva for 25 minutes in a Fight of the Night winner that had Bisping bleeding all over the canvas – and a crazy end to the third round.

In the end, Bisping won a unanimous decision with 48-47 scores across the board at The O2 in London on Feb. 27, 2016. The result had the British fans in an uproar, and Brazil’s Silva in disbelief.

Below, relive Bisping’s big win over Silva that was his final bout before his shot at champion Luke Rockhold’s 185-pound belt on short notice later that year. You can check out Bisping’s faceoff with Silva, the full fight, MMA Junkie’s recap, backstage interviews and more.
