Video: Where does Bellator champ Gegard Mousasi rank among the world’s best middleweights?

Gegard Mousasi hasn’t typically been the kind of fighter who talks himself up throughout his career.

But that changed a little bit this past week after Mousasi finished Austin Vanderford with relative ease in the first round to defend his middleweight title at Bellator 275 in Dublin. After the win, Mousasi said it’s time for people to start recognizing him among the best 185-pounders in the sport.

In the UFC, he’s got champion Israel Adesanya, former champ Robert Whittaker and Jared Cannonier ahead of him in the latest MMA Junkie middleweight rankings. Mousasi is at No. 4 ahead of the likes of Marvin Vettori, Derek Brunson and Paulo Costa.

Is that where he belongs? Is the longtime standout and two-time Bellator champ among the elite of the world’s middleweights? Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn and Danny Segura discussed that with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia.

“Spinning Back Clique” is released each Tuesday on MMA Junkie’s YouTube channel. You can watch the full episode in the video below.
