Ex-UFC champion Brandon Moreno parts ways with longtime team Entram Gym

Brandon Moreno has decided to switch things up in his fighting career.

The former UFC flyweight champion has parted ways with his longtime team, Entram Gym, in Tijuana, Mexico. Multiple people with knowledge of the move informed MMA Junkie of Moreno’s decision.

Moreno (19-6-2 MMA, 7-3-2 UFC), who now lives in Las Vegas, has yet to make a set home with another team, but the people said a move to James Krause’s Glory MMA & Fitness in Kansas City, Mo., is his next training destination. The reason for Moreno’s decision to leave Entram Gym is not known.

“The Assassin Baby” trained his entire career under Entram Gym and its head-coach, Raul Arvizu. Moreno began training at Entram Gym in his early teens. He fought professionally 27 times under the Entram Gym banner. There, he became the first Mexico-born champion in UFC history. He also won flyweight titles in LFA and WFF.

Moreno, 28, most recently fought Jan. 22, when he lost in his first attempted title defense. In a close, hard-fought decision, Brazil’s Deiveson Figueiredo recaptured the flyweight title to bring the trilogy to 1-1-1. The pair fought three consecutive times. Moreno told MMA Junkie days after the bout that he hopes to get an immediate fourth fight against Figueiredo.
