Bellator 276 weigh-in results: Adam Borics, Mads Burnell on point for headliner; one fighter heavy

ST. LOUIS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official Bellator 276 fighter weigh-ins, where all but one fighter hit their marks for Saturday’s event.

In the main event, Adam Borics (17-1 MMA, 8-1 BMMA) takes on Mads Burnell (16-3 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) in a top featherweight contenders fight. Borics was first to the scale in the one-hour weigh-ins window and was on the mark at 145.8 pounds. Burnell was the second to last fighter to come to the scale with about eight minutes left in the window. He weighed in at 145.6.

In the co-feature, former light heavyweight champion Phil Davis (23-6 MMA, 10-3 BMMA) needed the towel when he was 0.2 pounds over in his boxers, but hit 206 pounds on the nose for his fight against recent title challenger Julius Anglickas (10-2 MMA, 3-1 BMMA). Anglickas weighed in at 206, as well.

Josh Weston (8-11 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) missed the mark for the first pro fight on the prelims. He was a late replacement against Josh Augustine (5-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and weighed in at 175.8. Augustine was 170.

The weigh-ins took place at the Bellator host hotel in in St. Louis. The nearby Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo., hosts Saturday’s event, which has a main card on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
