Mads Burnell starts every fight week 0-0 – even ones with potential title stakes

ST. LOUIS – Mads Burnell knows he has the biggest fight of his career Saturday. But he says every next fight is the biggest.

Burnell (16-3 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) said he has experienced extra energy and excitement this week, though, ahead of his Bellator 276 main event against Adam Borics (17-1 MMA, 8-1 BMMA). The winner likely will be next in line for a featherweight title shot against the winner of champion A.J. McKee and former champ Patricio Freire.

Burnell spoke to MMA Junkie and other media members at Thursday’s Bellator 276 media day in St. Louis. Burnell talked about his philosophy going into fight week, his fight against Borics, the McKee-Freire fight and more.

Check out the portions of Burnell’s interview in the video above.

Bellator 276 takes place Saturday at Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo. The main card airs on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
