Ottman Azaitar calls out Paddy Pimblett: ‘You felt pressure in your past fights, but you never felt pain’

Add Ottman Azaitar to the list of UFC fighters who want a piece of Paddy Pimblett.

Pimblett’s star continued to shine when he scored a first-round submission of Kazula Vargas this past Saturday at UFC Fight Night 204 in London.

However, before scoring his second consecutive first-round finish, Pimblett (18-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) was rocked yet again in his fight, which has given the hard-hitting Azaitar (13-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) some confidence.

“I respect you as a fighter and wish you stay undefeated in the @ufc until we meet, but I’m really not impressed! You felt pressure in your past fights but you never felt pain. May Allah give us the victory.”

Unbeaten in his professional MMA career, Azaitar has finished all but one of his fights. In his two octagon appearances, the 32-year-old Moroccan has notched “Performance of the Night” bonuses for his first-round knockouts of Teemu Packalen and most recently Khama Worthy in September 2020.

Azaitar was scheduled to face Matt Frevola at UFC 257 last January but was pulled from the fight for violating COVID-19 security protocols. Not only that, but Azaitar was cut from the UFC, a decision which was later reversed.
