UFC on ESPN 33 weigh-in results: No one heavy in Columbus, Blaydes-Daukaus official
COLUMBUS, Ohio – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC on ESPN 33 fighter weigh-ins, where all 26 fighters hit their marks on the scale.
In the main event, Curtis Blaydes (15-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) takes on Chris Daukaus (12-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC) at heavyweight. Blaydes, roughly a 4-1 betting favorite, weighed in at 259 pounds. Daukaus was 243.
In the co-feature, and Alexa Grasso (13-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) meets Joanne Wood (15-7 MMA, 7-7 UFC) in a women’s flyweight bout. Grasso weighed in early in the two-hour window and was 125 pounds. Wood weighed in not long after and was 125, as well.
The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Columbus, Ohio, and precede the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 4 p.m. ET at Nationwide Arena in Columbus. The same venue hosts Saturday’s event, which airs on ESPN and streams on ESPN+.
