Andre Fili vs. Joanderson Brito added to UFC on ESPN 35 on April 30

A featherweight matchup is a late addition to UFC on ESPN 35.

Andre Fili (21-8-1 MMA, 9-7-1 UFC) will take on Joanderson Brito (12-3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) on April 30 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. A person with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie after an initial post by Brito on social media.

Fili hasn’t competed since his no contest against Daniel Pineda at UFC Fight Night 190 in June 2021. Fili was in firm control after Round 1, but just 46 seconds into the second frame, he accidentally poked Pineda in the eye. Pena was unable to continue. Prior to that, the 31-year-old Team Alpha Male fighter had split four appearances with wins over Sheymon Moraes and Charles Jourdain in that stretch.

Dana White’s Contender Series graduate Brito will look to rebound from his UFC debut loss. The Brazilian dropped a unanimous decision to Bill Algeo in January, which snapped a 12-fight unbeaten run.

With the addition, the UFC’s April 30 lineup now includes:

  • Rob Font vs. Marlon Vera
  • Gina Mazany vs. Shanna Young
  • Daniel Silva vs. Francisco Figueiredo
  • Cortney Casey vs. Antonina Shevchenko
  • Jake Collier vs. Justin Tafa
  • Mike Breeden vs. Natan Levy
  • Gabe Green vs. Yohan Lainesse
  • Carlos Candelario vs. Tatsuro Taira
  • Tristan Connelly vs. Darren Elkins
  • Krzysztof Jotko vs. Gerald Meerschaert
  • Grant Dawson vs. Jared Gordon
  • Joanderson Brito vs. Andre Fili
