Caio Borralho not intimidated by UFC Apex co-main debut: ‘I’ve already fought in this same cage twice’

LAS VEGAS – It’s been a long road for Caio Borralho, but he can now call himself a UFC fighter.

The Brazilian middleweight fought and won twice on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021, creating an experience that Borralho (10-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) believes will help him in his UFC on ESPN 34 debut against Gadzhi Omargadzhiev at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

“I’ve already fought in this same cage twice and you guys saw two great victories,” Borralho told MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday’s media day. “It really motivates me to be here finally as a UFC fighter right now. So, of course, there’s nerves, but I embrace all of the nerves and it gets motivating for sure.”

Not only will Borralho have a chance to make a splash in his first UFC contest, but he will also have the co-main event stage to perform. His opponent, fellow DWCS veteran Omargadzhiev (13-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), will also be making his UFC debut. Borralho will not only have the chance to pick up his first UFC victory, but also hand his opponent the first loss of his career.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to show the UFC what I’m capable of,” Borralho said. “In the co-main event, we know that all will be seeing because they are always waiting for the main event. So, they have to see the co-main and I’m here to give them a big show, for sure.”
