UFC adds Damir Ismagulov vs. Guram Kutateladze to June 18 event

A battle between lightweight prospects is on tap for June.

Damir Ismagulov (20-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) will take on Guram Kutateladze (12-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at a June 18 UFC event which doesn’t yet have an announced venue or location.

A person with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Thursday but asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. MMA Fighting was first to report the news.

Unbeaten in the UFC, Ismagulov currently is riding a 15-fight winning streak. In four octagon bouts, the former M-1 lightweight champion has picked up unanimous decision wins over Alex Gorgees, Joel Alvarez, Thiago Moises and, most recently, Rafael Alves at UFC Fight Night 188 in May 2021.

Kutateladze, 30, hasn’t competed since he beat former two-division KSW champion Mateusz Gamrot in his UFC debut in October 2020. One of Khamzat Chimaev’s main training partners, Kutateladze has been plagued with injuries and visa issues that caused multiple bookings with Don Madge to get scrapped.

With the addition, the June 18 lineup includes:

  • Julian Marquez vs. Wellington Turman
  • Roman Dolidze vs. Kyle Daukaus
  • Phil Hawes vs. Deron Winn
  • Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Natalia Silva
  • Damir Ismagulov vs. Guram Kutateladze
