Tyrell Fortune motivated to get one back after Bellator 277 win

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Tyrell Fortune isn’t worried about who he fights next, but he’d love to avenge his past losses.

Fortune (12-2 MMA, 12-2 BMMA) got back to the win column when he took out Rakim Cleveland this past Friday at Bellator 277. On the same night, two of Fortune’s former opponents tangled, and the 31-year-old had a vested interest in the outcome.

Linton Vassell (22-8 MMA, 11-5 BMMA) rallied to stop Tim Johnson (15-9 MMA, 3-5 BMMA), and being that Fortune lost to both men, he thinks a rematch with Johnson makes sense.

“I want the loser of the next fight here,” Fortune told reporters, including MMA Junkie, after his win. “The only two guys that ever beat me, that’s who I want to fight. I don’t care about anybody else really other than moving up and getting to the belt. Besides those two guys, I just want the belt.”

He continued, “My job is just to beat up whoever they put in front of me, and that’ll take care of everything.”
