‘I couldn’t see anything’: How Bubba Jenkins overcame late eye injury to defeat Kyle Bochniak

ARLINGTON, Texas – Bubba Jenkins was en route to a flawless victory over Kyle Bochniak at 2022 PFL 2 until his eye got busted in Round 3.

Jenkins wound up defeating Bochniak by unanimous decision Thursday at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where he was able to show off his striking by rocking the tough Bostonian on two occasions.

But in the final round, Jenkins (17-5) right eye swelled shut and he said he had no vision out of it in the remaining minutes of the fight.

“He got my eye,” Jenkins told reporters following PFL 2. “He got me, so if I would have put him out early like when he fell down, I wouldn’t have had this problem. So we live and we learn. We’re growing.

“I couldn’t see anything. I tried to change the position, I tried to circle a little more – me grabbing around his waist. In college (wrestling), we call that stalling, and I was stalling my ass off just so I could get it back.”
