Sheymon Moraes happy he was able to make PFL season after undergoing knee surgery just six months ago

ARLINGTON, Texas – Six months removed from knee surgery, Sheymon Moraes’ team didn’t think he would make this year’s PFL season.

Not only did Moraes (14-5) prove his doubters wrong, but he was successful Thursday when he defeated fellow ex-UFC fighter Boston Salmon at 2022 PFL 2 at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Currently riding a three-fight winning streak, Moraes is confident that after fixing his knee, he’ll be a problem for the rest of the division.

“I wish I knocked him out or submitted him, but today is the six-month anniversary of my surgery – ACL and meniscus,” Moraes told reporters following PFL 2. “I thought I wasn’t going to fight in this tournament, but I proved all the doctors, physical therapy, coaches, everybody – they are wrong. I fought and I think I did a great performance. I improved my wrestling, my clinch game, confidence back in the cage.

“I just had a month and a half to train for this fight, and I pushed harder so I feel great. I wish I could have finished the fight to catch more points, but I’m very happy with my performance after having surgery six months ago. Last year I fought all the year without an ACL and meniscus, without a knee basically, but we’re back in the game.”
