Drakkar Klose vs. Diego Ferreira in the works for UFC 277

A fun lightweight matchup is heading to the UFC’s July pay-per-view event.

In the works for UFC 277 is a fight between exciting lightweights Drakkar Klose and Diego Ferreira. A source with knowledge of the booking confirmed the news following an initial report from MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani.

The event is set for July 30 and is expected to take place in Dallas, although a venue has not yet been confirmed. An interim flyweight title bout between Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France has already been added to the main card of the event.

Klose (12-2-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC), 34, enters on the heels of an impressive second-round TKO stoppage of Brandon Jenkins at UFC on ESPN 34. His previous outing was the first in over two years, bouncing back into the win column after a setback against Beneil Dariush. Prior to that, Klose put together three straight against Lando Vannata, Bobby Green, and Christos Giagos.

Ferreira (17-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC), 37, will look to right the ship after dropping his previous three. Prior to the recent rough patch that began in 2021, Ferreira won six-straight UFC bouts, including wins over Rustam Khabilov, Mairbek Taisumov, and a submission stoppage of former champion Anthony Pettis.

With the addition, the UFC 277 lineup includes:

  • Brandon Moreno vs. Kai Kara-France
  • Derrick Lewis vs. Sergei Pavlovich
  • Magomed Ankalaev vs. Anthony Smith
  • Mariya Agapova vs. Ji Yeon Kim
  • Paulo Costa vs. Luke Rockhold
  • Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Michael Morales
  • Diego Ferreira vs. Drakkar Klose
