Undefeated UFC featherweight Movsar Evloev out to finish Dan Ige, prove he’s a ‘real contender’

LAS VEGAS – Movsar Evloev wants more than just a win in his return to the octagon. He wants a finish.

The UFC featherweight contender has big aspirations for his upcoming bout against Dan Ige in the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 207. Evloev (15-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) is out to maintain his undefeated status and prove to the masses that he’s a legit threat to the UFC title at 145 pounds.

“I need to show my best version for this and prove for everybody I’m a real contender for the title fight,” Evloev told reporters at Wednesday’s media day at the UFC Apex. “I hope after this fight when I get victory, I need one more good name (to fight) for the title shot, I hope.”

Evloev has been nothing but a winner since joining the UFC in 2019. He’s notched notable wins over fighters such as Hakeem Dawodu, Nik Lentz and Enrique Barzola.

The former M-1 champion knows Ige (15-5 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is a tough opponent and one of the best in the division, but he believes Ige is bound to become his first stoppage win in the UFC.

“I’m going to finish this guy in the first round,” Evloev said. “I don’t need three rounds.”
