ONE Championship 160 main event sees Thanh Le defending featherweight title vs. Tang Kai

ONE Championship featherweight champ Thanh Le will look to keep rolling and notch another title defense late in the summer.

A promotion official informed MMA Junkie on Thursday that Le will meet challenger Tang Kai in the ONE Championship 160 main event on Aug. 26 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Le (13-2) is coming off a highlight-reel TKO of Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Garry Tonon as he needed just 56 seconds to stop him with vicious ground-and-pound in March at “ONE: Lights Out.” The win kept Le a perfect 5-0 in ONE, with all five victories coming by knockout.

Le should face a stern test from Chinese rising star Kai (14-2), who is on a nine-fight overall winning streak that dates back to September 2017. Kai is 6-0 since joining ONE in January 2019, and his past three bouts have ended in first-round knockouts.

Kai most recently knocked out Jai Woong Kim in March at ONE X.
