LFA 133 video: Check out this devastating knee to the head knockout by Trey Waters

LFA welterweight Trey Waters may have been on the verge of his first professional loss, but a well-timed knee in the final round changed everything in an instant.

At LFA 133 on Friday, Waters (6-0 MMA) found himself in a tough battle against Benjamin Bennett at Magness Arena in Denver. Throughout the fight, Bennett (3-1) kept the pressure high as he consistently looked to get the fight to the ground and landed strikes at close range. Waters had success on the feet as well, but Bennett’s forward pressure dictated the pace for a majority of the fight.

However, late in the third round, things came to a screeching halt after the referee broke up a stalled clinch against the cage. Just seconds after the referee separated the two fighters, Waters landed a perfectly-timed knee to the head of Bennett as he changed levels, resulting in an immediate knockout with no follow-up punches necessary.

Waters keeps his unblemished record intact in spectacular fashion with the walk-off knockout. “The Truth” picks up win number six in his LFA debut and recorded the fifth stoppage of his professional career. He also handed Bennett the first loss of his pro career.

After the fight, Waters acknowledged he may have been down on the scorecards, but ultimately ended the fight out of nowhere. As for what’s next, he called for a shot at the LFA welterweight champion Gabriel Bonfim.
