UFC Fight Night 207 winner Ode Osbourne explains callout of Jeff Molina: ‘It’ll be a great banger’

LAS VEGAS – Ode Osbourne already knows who he wants next after UFC Fight Night 207.

Osbourne (11-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) needed a minute to take out Zarrukh Adashev on the main card Saturday and wants Jeff Molina (11-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) next, who picked up a split decision win over Zhalgas Zhumagulov on the same night at the UFC Apex.

“I think Jeff Molina is a great standup fighter, and he’s an exciting fighter, and I think I’m a decent enough standup fighter,” Osbourne told reporters at the post-fight news conference. “So I think the fans would want to see it, and I think it’ll be a great banger out there for everybody to watch. I couldn’t have asked for a better callout. I was like, ‘That makes perfect sense, and he fought the exact night I did, so we both have the exact same time to prepare, so let’s run it.’ I’m down with that.”

Luckily for Osbourne, Molina said he was eyeing the winner of his fight with Adashev, but if he doesn’t end up getting his wish, Osbourne is willing to throw down with anyone.

“Literally anybody,” Osbourne said. “Anybody. Literally anybody. I have the hardest time finding opponents. I’m at this limbo where I’m not ranked, but I’m too dangerous. Like, what the hell? This win definitely helps. Fighters avoid me because it’s ‘not worth it for them.’

“I don’t know what that means, and I’ve constantly my whole career just having fighters pull out or say no. So if I don’t get the Molina fight, literally anybody. But the reporter did say that Jeff Molina said that he wanted the winner of this fight so …”
