Gregory Rodrigues put everything he had into finish of Julian Marquez at UFC Austin

AUSTIN, Texas – After a split decision loss earlier this year, Gregory Rodrigues really wanted to get back in the win column. He did it with absolute authority.

Rodrigues (12-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) starched Julian Marquez (9-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in the first round of their bout on the UFC on ESPN 37 main card in Austin, Texas, on Saturday. The former LFA middleweight champion picked up a $50,000 post-fight bonus for his knockout, which was his second in three UFC wins.

Rodrigues said the effort he gave to take out Marquez was “everything he had.” And that might not be surprising since Marquez had never been finished before Rodrigues put him out cold on the canvas.

For what Rodrigues had to say about his bonus-winning victory over Marquez, check out the full interview in the video above.
