“The Ultimate Fighter” returned this year for its 30th season.
The longtime UFC reality competition series, which is credited for helping the promotion take things to the next level, has had all kinds of epic coaching pairs over its historic run. Right now, women’s bantamweight champion Julianna Peña is coaching opposite the all-time great she beat for the title, Amanda Nunes.
And while it’s not a sure thing “TUF” will be back for Season 31, the presumption has been that it will be – and rumors have been swirling for months about whom the coaches could be. Included in that mix has been the hope for former lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is retired, and Tony Ferguson – because those two had five fights booked, and five fights canceled for various reasons on each side.
