Paddy Pimblett: Jordan Leavitt will ‘wilt under the pressure in the first or early second’ at UFC London

Paddy Pimblett is expecting another quick finish at UFC London.

Pimblett (18-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) meets Jordan Leavitt (10-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) at The O2 on July 23 and the rising star is confident he’ll continue building off his momentum.

The former Cage Warriors champion took Luigi Vendramini and Kazula Vargas out in the first round to kick off his UFC tenure and sees a similar fate for Leavitt.

“I don’t even know that much about him, to be honest,” Pimblett said on his YouTube channel. “He’s a black belt in jiu-jitsu. He’s 3-1 in the UFC. As I say, he’s a black belt, so that’s the best thing that he’s got going for him when I knock him out on the feet, in the first five minutes, more than likely. That’s it. I’m going to come out and put it on him in a big way and he’ll wilt under the pressure in the first or early second, and I’m going to finish him.”

Leavitt admits he was offended that he drew Pimblett and took it as a sign that he was being underestimated. “The Monkey King” is 3-1 since punching his ticket to the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series and is coming off back-to-back wins over Matt Sayles and Trey Ogden.
