Video: Is it time for Alexander Volkanovski to go after a second UFC title?

Alexander Volkanovski kept on rolling this past Saturday with his third win over former champion Max Holloway.

Volkanovski (25-1 MMA, 12-0 UFC) dominated Holloway (23-7 MMA, 19-7 UFC) in their UFC 276 co-main event in Las Vegas, which moved him to 3-0 over the man who was regarded as one of the best featherweight champions in history before Volkanovski took his belt.

Now the Australian has spent 75 minutes in the cage with Holloway – who despite the 0-3 mark against the champ still might be the No. 2 featherweight in the UFC.

And that’s important because it begs the question of who’s left to challenge Volkanovski at 145 pounds any time soon. If there isn’t a solid option, Volkanovski has teased a move up to lightweight to challenge for the title currently held by Charles Oliveira. And after his win over Holloway, he said he has no problem holding both titles and actively defending both titles, which may have been a subtle jab at Conor McGregor, who was the first simultaneous featherweight and lightweight champ in UFC history, but never defended either belt.

So is the time right for Volkanovski to move up to 155 pounds to try to become the latest two-division champ in UFC history? That’s what we asked our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn and Matthew Wells.
