Christos Giagos vs. Benoit Saint-Denis added to UFC Paris on Sept. 3

Benoit Saint-Denis will get to compete in front of his home fans.

France’s Saint-Denis (9-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC meets Christos Giagos (19-10 MMA, 5-6 UFC) at UFC Fight Night on Sept. 3, which takes place at Accor Arena in Paris.

Two people with knowledge of the booking confirmed the matchup to MMA Junkie on Friday but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

After enduring his first-career setback in a rough UFC debut against Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos last October, Saint-Denis moved down to lightweight and rebounded with an impressive submission finish of Niklas Stolze at UFC Fight Night 207 in June.

Giagos has split his past four appearances. He scored back-to-back wins over Carlton Minus and Sean Soriano, but was then stopped by Arman Tsarukyan and most recently Thiago Moises at UFC on ESPN 38 in June.
